Hooper is entering his seventh season at Oregon State and fifth year on the wrestling staff as Director of Operations having joined the OSU Athletic Department in August of 2017.
Evan's responsibilities include coordinating team travel, organizing and hosting summer camps, daily, game-day and championship operations, media liaison on road trips, among other responsibilities.
During his first two years with the athletic communications department at Oregon State University, Hooper served as the primary contact for the Beaver’s wrestling, rowing, track & field and cross country teams, and had an expanded role with football. In addition he served as the Host Media Coordinator for the 2018 Pac-12 Wrestling Championships hosted by Oregon State, and as Assistant Host Media Coordinator for the 2019 NCAA Women's Sweet Sixteen/Elite Eight in Portland.Â
Prior to his arrival in Corvallis, he provided support to the media relations department at Minnesota State University Moorhead as the primary contact for men’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
Hooper worked as an Assistant Sports Information Director at Marist College. He served as the primary contact for nine NCAA Division I varsity sports, compiling statistics, writing press releases, creating game notes and programs, and serving as a liaison between the athletics department and local and national media outlets.
A 2014 graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Hooper earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in economics. During his time at Stevens Point he served as a sports information assistant for the athletics department, and worked various NCAA Championship events.

He is originally from Pocahontas, Iowa.
