Bill Austin

Bill earned All-Coast honors as a tackle in 1948 and played in the 1949 East-West Shrine Game.
He played for the New York Giants for five seasons, and later coached for the Packers, Rams, Steelers, Redskins, Bears, and Cardinals. He played a total of seven seasons, won a title with the Giants in 1956, and played in the Pro Bowl in 1954.
Austin had a lengthy NFL coaching career, including spending three seasons as the head coach of the Steelers (1966-68). He spent six years as an assistant at Green Bay under Vince Lombardi and later would serve as an assistant coach the the Rams, Redskins, and Giants.
Austin was a 1982 inductee into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame.
