Community Engagement - Oregon State University Athletics

Dear Community Member,

On behalf of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff we would like to thank you for your interest in Oregon State Athletics. We are committed to providing transformational and educational service opportunities for OSU student-athletes that strengthen the Corvallis community and surrounding areas. We believe it is important to be invested in our great community and look forward to working with you on your request.

Please consider the following guidelines when requesting for your event. Although not every request may be approved, requests that meet the following conditions are most likely to be considered for approval:

Student-athletes are limited to a 30-minute radius drive from the university to the event location.
Appearances cannot last more than two hours. If your event is longer than two hours, we are willing to discuss the possibility of shift times.
Athletic teams and individuals representing the Department of Athletics may not be responsible for the administration, management or collection of any funds.
Student-athletes may not be personally asked to participate in these events, as it could compromise their eligibility under NCAA rules. All request must be filtered through the student-athlete development and compliance offices.
Please be advised that any event scheduled for a student-athlete must have charitable or philanthropic purpose. Student-Athletes will NOT make appearances merely to sign autographs or have their pictures taken, nor will student-athletes make appearances at private parties or events (i.e., birthday parties, etc.).
Requests are fulfilled based on availability. No student may miss academic or athletic responsibilities to participate in an appearance or community event.
Specific student-athletes or teams requested cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, the office of Student-Athlete Development reserves the right to consider alternate teams or student-athletes to fill a request. This will be communicated with the requestor prior to approving the event.
Standing requests will not be processed. Even if your event has been approved in the past, a new request must be submitted each time.

BLACK OUT DATES: Due to the academic calendar, requests will not be processed during the first week, dead week, and finals week of each term. Due to limited availability, requests may not be processed during Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, spring break, summer vacation and University observed holidays.

If you feel that your event has special circumstances that fall outside of the above parameters, please continue to the form below and provide the appropriate information and justification in the comment box.

Please Note:

The Oregon State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reserves the right to refuse any appearances, at its sole discretion. All appearance forms must be completed and submitted three weeks prior to your event date for your request to be considered and processed. Due to the volume of requests received, the Oregon State Student-Athlete Development staff is unable to discuss an event or provide an update on the status of a request more than two weeks prior to the event date. Submitting a request does not guarantee an appearance from an OSU student-athlete; a back-up plan is strongly encouraged.
