Joni Huntley was an Olympic high jumper in 1976 and 1984 winning the bronze in '84. She also won a gold medal at the 1975 Pan Am Games and a bronze in 1983.
During her career, she was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. five times and appeared in the top 10 for 13 consecutive years.
The McMinnville, Ore., native was inducted into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1990 and was in the inaugural class of the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988. She was the recipient of the prestigious Hayward Award, signifying the state's top amateur athlete, during her competitive days at OSU.
She was scheduled to be inducted into the Pac-12 Hall of Honor in 2020, the second OSU female student-athlete to earn that prestigious honor, but the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 virus.
