Team 2001 Fiesta Bowl Champions

The 2000 football team posted a school record 11 victories and finished the year No. 4 in the country after beating Notre Dame in the 2001 New Year’s Day Fiesta Bowl 41-9.
Current Beaver head coach Jonathan Smith was named the Fiesta Bowl’s offensive MVP while linebacker Darnell Robinson tackled the defensive honor.
OSU career rushing leader Ken Simonton earned All-America honors as did center Chris Gibson, defensive lineman DeLawrence Grant, cornerback Dennis Weathersby, and linebacker Richard Seigler.
