Tommy Prothro

Tommy Prothro guided Oregon State to a 10-year (1955-64) mark of 63-37-2, which included two appearances in the Rose Bowl and one in the Liberty Bowl. He coached 1962 Heisman Trophy recipient Terry Baker among numerous other All-Americans.
Prothro played in the 1942 Rose Bowl for Duke against Oregon State. He would later coach at UCLA (1965-70) and finish his collegiate coaching career with a mark of 104-55-5.
He coached professionally for the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers before his retirement.
Prothro is a member of the Duke Hall of Fame, the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
