OREGON STATE: (2004) Onstad returns after starting the first 15 games as a true freshman... will battle with junior Amy Johnson for starting duties... one of 16 returning letterwinners and 12 returning starters... coach Fennah's comments: "Mel had a great freshman year and communicates very well. She's also worked very hard this summer to come back in tip-top condition." (2003) Earned the starting role as a true freshman and finished the year with a 5-8-2 record with four shutouts... posted shutouts in each of her first two games - 1-0 at San Diego State and 0-0 at the University of San Diego, a game in which she made an OSU season high 12 saves... held opponents scoreless for the first 131 minutes, 25 seconds of the season... also shut out No. 10 Washington and Weber State... 1.31 goals-against average in 1,379 minutes... had games of 11 (Pepperdine), nine, (San Francisco) and eight saves (Oregon).
