
Kibby Wins Twice to Pace Swimming Against Boise State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior Crystal Kibby won twice in breaststroke events to pace the Oregon State swimming team, but it wasn't enough as Boise State won the dual meet, 179-85, Saturday morning.
Kibby' wins came in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.30 and the 200-yard event in 2:19.55. She also pulled in second place in the 400-yard individual medley (4:27.46). Joining Kibby with wins were freshman Sammy Harrison in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:16.43) and junior Aya Fujimura in the 100-yard butterfly (57.35). Harrison also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.82), while Fujimura placed second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.77).
Freshman Amani Amr added two runner-up performances in backstroke events. She finished the 100-yard backstroke in 57.68 and the 200-yarder in 2:06.29. Senior Ocean Trail performed well in the freestyle sprint races, placing second in the 50-yard (24.71) and third in the 100-yarder (53.91).
The Beavers next compete in the Husky Invitational later this month.
