SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Oregon State gymnastics team scored 194.875 to finish second in a tri-meet against No. 21 Arizona and Sacramento State Friday night.

The Beavers posted the top team score on the balance beam (49.275) and floor exercise (48.875).
"I'm frustrated that we didn't compete to our potential," head coach Tanya Chaplin said. "We have a lot of work to do. We are capable of much more than we have shown. We'll get back in the gym and work hard so we can execute the routines we are capable of in competition."
The Beavers opened the meet on fire, scorching the balance beam with a blistering 49.275, their highest rotation score of the season. Maela Lazaro won the individual title with a 9.925 and Madi Dagen was second with a 9.90. Isis Lowery and Lacy Dagen tied for third with scores of 9.850.
Holding the early lead over the Wildcats, 49.275-48.875, OSU moved to the floor exercise. Kaitlyn Yanish anchored the lineup with a winning score of 9.90 and Madi Dagen posted a mark of 9.850. However, the Beavers could muster only a 48.775 on the event.
Oregon State continued to hold the lead at the halfway point, 98.050-97.900, but were done in by shaky vault and bars rotations.
Madi Dagen continued her strong performance posting a team-high 9.80 on the vault.
Alyssa Minyard and Halli Briscoe notched scores of 9.850 on the bars to tie for second on the event.
