Lake Paces Men’s Golf Again In Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Jackson Lake finished under par for the second consecutive round to pace the Oregon State men's golf team, which concluded play Saturday at the Thunderbird Collegiate.

The event, hosted by Arizona State, was held at the par-71, 7,317 yard Papago Golf Club. The Beavers finished 12th as a team, shooting a 10-over 862. Oregon State ended Saturday's final round at 3-over.

Lake shot a 1-under 70 Saturday to finish under par for the second consecutive round. He posted a 2-under 69 in round two Friday, and ended the trip with a 3-under 210. It's the second time this season he posted back-to-back rounds, following the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in February.

Lake birdied three holes Saturday to highlight his seventh round under par this season. Lake posted 12 birdies over the three rounds and finished tied for 17th.

Mateo Fuenmayor continued strong play toward the back end of the tournament and ended the two-day event at par. He opened at 4-over Friday, then shot a 4-under 67 in round two. Saturday's action saw him at 71 to end at par for the tournament. Fuenmayor, who finished 11 birdies on the weekend, finished tied for 27th.

Carson Barry ended the tournament tied for 53rd. He shot a 1-over 72 on Saturday, one day after ending at par. Barry totaled a 4-over 217 to end the trip to Phoenix.

Brandon Eyre picked up four birdies Saturday to tally seven over the three rounds. He shot a 4-over 75 in round three to end at 12-over 225. He finished 81st.

Nolan Thoroughgood finished at 3-over 74 on Saturday to end the trip with a 16-over 229. He finished tied for 85th.
