Carson Barry Surges Ahead On Day Two Of NCAA Bryan Regional

BRYAN, Texas – Carson Barry surged ahead into a tie for fourth thanks to shooting a 3-under 69 Tuesday in the second day of action at the NCAA Men's Golf Bryan Regional. He paces the Beavers, who find themselves in fifth place after 36 holes.
One day of play remains, Wednesday, with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Ariz. The top individual not on an advancing team also heads to Scottsdale. Oregon State, with a 1-under 575 over the first two days, is one shot ahead of No. 6 Kansas. Pepperdine, which is in fourth place, is seven shots ahead of the OSU at the par-72, 7,146 Traditions Golf Club.
Barry vaulted seven spots after entering Tuesday's action tied for 11th. He picked up his second eagle of the trip, doing so on the par-5 15th hole. He also birdied three holes to give him six in the first 36.
Barry is at a 5-under 139 over 36 holes.
Brandon Eyre also improved in the second day of action, tallying a 1-over 73 Tuesday after entering play with a 7-over 69 following Monday's action. He is in tied for 57th entering Wednesday.
Mateo Fuenmayor finds himself in a tie for 12th after 36 holes. He recorded three birdies Tuesday to finish with a 2-over 74. He is, after 36 holes, at 2-under 142.
Alfred Raja held steady for OSU, finding himself in a tie for 37th. He shot a 2-over 74 and is at 4-over 148 over the first 36 holes.
Jackson Lake enters Wednesday's action tied for 57th with Eyre. He recorded four birdies in Tuesday's play, but finished with a 7-over 79. Lake, like Eyre, is at an 8-over 152 after 36 holes.
