
Lake Ends 4 Under To Pace OSU Men’s Golf In Final Day In Carmel

CARMEL, Calif. – Jackson Lake shot a 4-under 68 in the second round of the Cal Poly Invitational and ended the 54-hole event 4-under overall to pace the Oregon State men's golf team at the par-72 Preserve Golf Club.

Lake ended the event tied for 15th after shooting a 3-over 75 in the third and final round. He picked up an eagle on the par-4 12th hole in the second round and ended the event with 12 birdies.

Lake's tie for 15th was the highest mark by an OSU individual competitor. As a team, the Beavers finished eighth with a 5-under 859. The Beavers were one shot behind Ohio State and Colorado State for a tie for sixth, and four behind No. 5 Duke.

Mateo Fuenmayor ended the trip with his second sub-par round of the week, shooting a 2-under 70 over the final 18. He tallied a 2-under 214 overall and tied for 25th. He led the Beavers with 14 birdies.

Nicolas Quintero shot a 1-under 71 in round two – which was concluded Tuesday after suspension due to darkness on Monday. He finished with four birdies in the round and nine overall en route to a tie for 36th. He finished with a 1-over 217.

Rylan Johnson shot back-to-back 1-over 73s to end his trip tied for 50th. The sophomore was 4-over at 220, and tallied 11 birdies. He shot an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole in the second round.

Brandon Eyre, meanwhile, finished in a tie for 53rd at 5-over. He concluded his trip with back-to-back 2-over 74s and totaled seven birdies.
