
Beavers Take Down Ducks at Lorenz

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's soccer team took down Oregon 2-0 Friday evening in a rivalry matchup at Lorenz Field.
The Beavers dominated the contest from start to finish, ending the night with a whopping 31 shots. Megin Turi netted her second goal of the season to open the scoring in the first half, and Katie Godden scored her first of the campaign in the second 45 to secure the win.
Oregon State honored 10 players as part of its Senior Day ceremony, as the program recognized Regan Berg, Helena Brown, Jazy Campbell, Hailey Coll, Caroline Duncan, Skylar Herrera, Aubrie Rasheed, Maddie Tetz, Valerie Tobias, and Anna Wagner in a pregame ceremony.
McKenna Martinez whipped a cross past the face of goal in the sixth minute, but it just missed its target. Turi put the Beavers in front in the 11th minute, as Valerie Tobias found her sprinting into space down the left wing. Turi curled one home from there to give Oregon State the lead.
Martinez turned her defender and forced a save in the 13th. Minutes later, Tobias and Amaya Bautista both forced the Duck defense into blocks to prevent a Beaver second. Godden fired a shot just off target in the 23rd minute.
Oregon State dominated the entirety of the first half. Regan Berg curled a shot just wide in the 42nd, as the Beavers out-shot the Ducks 17-2 in the opening 45 minutes. OSU headed to the break leading 1-0.
Godden doubled the Oregon State advantage in the 59th minute, curling in an absolute wonder-strike from 30 yards out. Martinez hammered one off the post in the 72nd minute, as the Beavers continued to control the match.
Hailey Coll made a total of three saves to hold her sixth clean sheet of the season, as the Beavers took the two-goal victory. Coll ends the year with a total of 200 career saves.
