December 20, 2024 | Women's Volleyball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Elly Schraeder signed a professional contract to continue her volleyball career overseas, becoming the first student-athlete in the Lindsey Behonick era to join the pro ranks.
Schraeder came to an agreement with AO Thiras, a club based in Santorini, Greece.
The middle blocker saw action in 52 sets across 17 matches in the 2024 season, her lone campaign in Corvallis. She had season-bests in both kills (5) and points (7) in a five-set battle at Hawaii before tallying a season-high of five blocks in her Gill Coliseum debut in September. Helping the team out defensively, the Athol, Idaho, product had three digs in the five-set win in San Francisco last month.
Schraeder joins Mary-Kate Marshall (2014-17) and Rachel Rourke (2006-09) as the latest Beavers to sign professional contracts.
