Quintero Leads Beavers To Wrap Amer Ari Invitational

KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Nicolas Quintero shot a 7-under 65 Saturday and Jackson Lake and Mateo Fuenmayor tied for the Oregon State team lead over three days with a 9-under 207 to pace the Beavers at the Amer Ari Invitational, which wrapped up play on Saturday.

Oregon State, as a team, posted a 25-under 839 to finish with the second-lowest three-round tally in school history. The Beavers, however, placed 16th in a highly competitive field that saw tournament champion North Carolina finish with a 69-under 796. Eighteen of the 20 teams in the event shot under par.

Nicolas Quintero competed as an individual for the Beavers, and posted an eagle on the par-5, 536-yard 10th hole Saturday. He had the best day for OSU, finishing with a 7-under 65 and 9-under for the event. Quintero tied for 45th.

Lake finished under par all three rounds, and tallied 16 birdies over the 54 holes. He finished tied for 45th.

Fuenmayor equaled Lake, shooting a 9-under for the event. He picked up seven birdies on Saturday to end the trip with a team-best 18.

Rylan Johnson, meanwhile, was two shots shy of Fuenmayor and Lake, posting a 7-under for the event. He totaled three birdies Saturday and 16 overall. Johnson tied for 55th.

Collin Hodgkinson finished with his best day of the trip, completing it with a 3-under 69. He ended his 54 holes at par and tied for 97th.

Brandon Eyre shot a 5-over on the final 18 holes and ended at 11-over to finish tied for 116th.
