CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eron Hodges will join the Oregon State football program as General Manager, Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard announced Wednesday.
"Eron Hodges has been involved with some of the most elite coaches in college football and around elite players all throughout the country," Shephard said. "He has played a pivotal role in assuring the programs that he has worked at have had success, let alone building great relationships with not only the players, but their families and everyone who touched those young men as they were making decisions to attend those universities. It is a pleasure to have him at Oregon State University and we will build those same relationships here."
Hodges has spent the past two seasons at the University of Alabama as Associate Director of Player Personnel and has previous experience at TCU, Louisville University, Texas Tech University, Purdue University and Ohio State University.
"I'm excited to be here," Hodges said. "This program is a hidden gem in college football, and I'm ecstatic to roll up my sleeves with Coach Shephard and this elite staff and dig until we unearth all the gems within this team to build a program that our former players, alumni, fans and administration will be proud of once again."
The appointment is contingent on the completion of all university hiring processes.
Hodges spent two years at TCU (2022-23) as the director of recruiting while also serving as a defensive analyst, working primarily with cornerbacks. Prior to working at TCU, he spent one year at Louisville (2021) as a recruiting coordinator and defensive analyst and one year at Texas Tech (2020) as the director of recruiting.
Prior to Texas Tech, he spent three years as director of player personnel at Purdue and helped the Boilermakers sign the highest-rated recruiting class in more than a decade, ranked No. 25 nationally by 247sports.com.
Hodges served as assistant director of player personnel at Ohio State for three years, joining the Buckeyes' recruiting staff as an analyst in 2015 after previously serving as a strength and conditioning coach.
He spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Kent State, working primarily with linebackers. He began his career in collegiate athletics as a strength and conditioning coach at Notre Dame in 2012, while also working as linebackers coach at Valparaiso (2012) and Saint Joseph's (2015).
Hodges served four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school. After the Navy, he earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Illinois State in 2012 and received a master's degree in sports management from Kent State in 2015.
