Beavers Add Sharpshooting Transfer Jenna Villa
April 17, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State announced the signing of experienced transfer guard Jenna Villa on Thursday. Â
Â
Villa just completed her sophomore season at Washington State, where she started 29 games and shot 33.8 percent from three for the Cougars. She averaged 5.6 points per game with most coming from her 44 made threes.
Â
"Jenna is a talented and proven veteran who has competed and had success against the best," said head coach Scott Rueck. "She an outstanding shooter who has evolved into a complete and impactful player on both ends of the floor. She has an impressive basketball IQ and her desire to compete for championships is a perfect match for our program. We are so excited for Beaver Nation to cheer her on this season."
Â
"I chose Oregon State because of the incredible culture they've built over the years—one that values growth, connection, and commitment," Villa said. "The coaches and girls immediately made me feel at home, and I'm excited to be part of such a strong and supportive program."
Â
In her first two years playing collegiately, Villa averaged 5.6 points per game and shot better than 33 percent from three. She made multiple triples in 13 games last season, shooting 46 percent from deep in those contests.
Â
Villa was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on December 18, 2023 after scoring 18 points with a 4-for-5 day from three in a win over Houston.
Â
The incoming junior was a four-star recruit out of high school, ranking 68th in the nation according to espnW. She was the 2023 Washington Gatorade Player of the Year and WSGBCA 2023 Miss Basketball. Villa led Arlington High School to three district titles and three straight WIAA 3A semifinals.
Â
Villa is the first transfer signee to join an Oregon State roster fresh off its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and ninth since 2014 under head coach Scott Rueck. The Beavers return three starters from last season's WCC Championship team.
