Oregon State Adds Australian Floor-Spacer Katelyn Field
April 18, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck announced the signing of Australian wing Katelyn Field on Friday.
Â
An incoming freshman from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Field will join the Beavers for the 2025-26 season after competing with ATC Academy and in four seasons as an amateur on the Casey Cavaliers of NBL1.
Â
"Katelyn is an elite shooter who brings high level international experience to our program. Her proven ability to stretch the floor along with her defensive impact make her an excellent fit in our system. We are excited for Beaver Nation to welcome her to Corvallis," Rueck said.
Â
"I chose OSU because I feel that the culture and environment that I will be surrounded with will allow me to grow and develop not only as a player, but also individually," Field said. "The experience of the coaching staff and their belief in me will help me to achieve not only my own goals but beyond!"
Â
Field played in 16 games over four years as an amateur with the Casey Cavaliers of the professional NBL1. As a 17-year-old last season, she scored 14 points while hitting four three-pointers across seven games and nearly 44 minutes with the Cavaliers. Thus far in 2025, Field has played in two games. The basketball season in Australia typically begins in the spring.
Â
The Aussie played on the ATC Premier team in the December 2024 Nike Tournament of Champions. She led the team with 32 points against Example Academy, splashing nine three-pointers. Field also scored 15 points with two assists and four rebounds against Legion Academy. As a team, ATC Premier finished in fourth place in their division.
Â
Field is the second Aussie freshman – along with fellow ATC athlete and Victorian Keira Lindemens - to join an Oregon State roster fresh off its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and ninth since 2014 under head coach Scott Rueck. The Beavers return three starters from last season's WCC Championship team.
