July 25, 2025 | Women's Volleyball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lauren Rumel – a senior outside hitter – has been chosen for USA Volleyball's U23 Team ahead of the 2025 NORCECA Women's Pan American Cup.
The Tucson, Ariz., product will participate for Team USA in Leon, Mexico from July 27-August 1.
Rumel secured her spot on the team this past week while attending a training block in Anaheim, California. Back in February, the senior outside hitter competed at their open tryout in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She has been a vital member in the offense throughout her time as a Beaver, leading Oregon State in aces and among the best in recording kills. Very dependable as well, Rumel has started in every match for Oregon State over the last two seasons. Following the 2024 season, she was named to the All-District Team by Collegiate Sports Communicators for her work in the classroom alongside being named to the WCC's All-Conference team.
Rumel was the sole student-athlete selected from a WCC institution on the team.
Under the direction of head coach Lindsey Behonick, this is Oregon State's first national team selection in program history.
