CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's soccer team overcame an early two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 draw in an exciting match Saturday afternoon at Paul Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore.

The Beavers fell behind by two less than 10 minutes into the contest, but Adele Schwab and Amber Ogbolu both scored their first goals for the season to even the score before halftime. Mary Hoffman netted her fourth of the year in the second half to give Oregon State a brief lead, but Texas State answered to even the score.

The Beavers out-shot their opponent 17-10 on the afternoon, including 10-4 in the first half.

The Bobcats took an early lead on an impressive volley from the right side of the box in the eighth minute. Texas State added a second just over two minutes later.

Libby Brooker made a big save in the 19^th minute, diving to her left to parry the ball of out play. Grace Wetzel came close to pulling one back in the 23^rd minute, but her effort drifted just over the crossbar. Emily Brandt forced a save in the 31^st minute, as the Beavers started to take control of the match.

Schwab found the net in the 37^th minute, firing one into the upper-90 from 25 yards out off an assist from Hoffman. Ogbolu netted a second for the Beavers in the 43^rd minute, turning a cross from Schwab into the net from tight range.

The teams headed to the break level at two.

The two sides went back-and-forth to start the second half, with both squads creating scoring chances within the first 15 minutes of the frame. The Beavers took the lead in the 70^th minute, when Ogbolu played Hoffman in on goal for a right-footed finish. The advantage was short-lived, however as the Bobcats evened things up to minutes later on a free kick.

The teams continued to battle in the closing minutes, but neither side was able to break the deadlock.

The Beavers will hit the road next weekend for a matchup with Boise State.
