Beavers Set Single-Round Program Record To Open Play In Hawai’i
February 05, 2026 | Men's Golf
MAUNA LANI, Hawai'i – The Oregon State men's golf team shot a 19-under 269 to open play at the Amer Ari Invitational on Thursday, setting the program record for the lowest score in a single round.
Nguyen Anh Minh shot an 8-under 64 to place in a tie for fifth. It marked just the fourth collegiate round in his career after making his debut toward the end of the fall season. He tallied nine birdies, with six coming in the front nine at the par-72 Mauna Lani Resort.
Rylan Johnson was close behind with a 7-under 65, tying for eighth. Johnson recorded two eagles – one each on the par-5 second and 10th holes. He also made four birdies for his lowest round of the year.
The duo led the Beavers to a sixth-place finish on the first day, and the Beavers are two shots out of fourth, trailing Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
"It's always great to begin the season with a school record, but now we have to start over and do it again," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "We've gone into the spring working hard on controlling what we can control, and being the best version of ourselves. And today the guys did a great job."
Antoine Jasmin and Collin Hodgkinson both shot a 2-under 70 to tie for 60th, while Stanley Lin is a 1-over 73 and tied for 92nd. Ethan Elleraas, competing as an individual, shot a 2-over 74.
The event is a three-day tournament, with 18 holes per day featuring 20 teams.
