
Beavers Advance to WCC Match Play Semifinals Behind Anh Minh’s Runner-Up Finish

FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Nguyen Anh Minh finished runner-up individually and the Oregon State men's golf team rallied from a difficult opening round to advance to the West Coast Conference Championships match play semifinals at the par-71 Green Valley Golf Course.
The Beavers, seeded fourth in match play after a 12-under 840 over 54 holes of stroke play, will face top seed San Diego on Sunday. Oregon State opened the event with a 6-over 290 before finding its footing — shooting an 8-under 276 in the second round and then a 10-under 274 in the third. The Beavers' combined 18-under over the final two rounds trailed only San Diego's 20-under in the field.
Anh Minh led the charge, finishing 12-under 201 to earn the individual runner-up spot. He improved each round — a 2-under 69 to open, a 4-under 67 in the second round and a 6-under 65 in the third — and finished with 15 birdies over 54 holes, second only to tournament leader Ian Maspat of San Diego, who tallied 18. Maspat shot a 15-under 198 to finish atop the individual standings.
Rylan Johnson provided a steady complement, finishing tied for seventh individually at 4-under 209. After a 1-over 72 to open, he closed with a 2-under 69 and a 3-under 68 over the final two rounds and was among the Beavers' most consistent contributors with 11 birdies on the week.
Collin Hodgkinson overcame a 5-over 76 in the opening round to close stroke play on a positive note, posting rounds of 1-under 70 and 2-under 69 to finish tied for 23rd at 2-over 215. His 11 birdies matched Johnson and Stanley Lin for the second-most on the team.
Lin finished tied for 38th at 5-over 218, carding rounds of 74-72-72 with 11 birdies. Antoine Jasmin rounded out the lineup tied for 40th at 6-over 219 — shooting 75-70-74 — and added nine birdies.
Match play at the WCC Championships begins Sunday at Green Valley Golf Course. The Beavers and Toreros will square off in one semifinal, and the winner will meet either Pepperdine or Augusta for the finals.
