PORTLAND, Ore. – The Oregon State women's soccer team dropped a road matchup with Portland 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Merlo Field in Portland, Ore.

Sophia Zboyan led the Beaver with two shots in the contest.

Reese Thurston made an impressive hustle play to clear the ball off the line in the 30^th minute, as chances proved hard to come by for either side in the early phases on the match. Libby Brooker followed that up with back-to-back saves five minutes later to preserve the deadlock.

The teams headed to the break scoreless.

Abby Smith nearly broke the deadlock early in the second half, but her effort from 12 yards out was saved. Portland opened the scoring in the 65^th minute off a corner kick. Zboyan took aim two minutes later looking for an equalizer, but her effort was just over the crossbar.

Oregon State continued to attack down the stretch, but could not level the match, as the Pilots claimed the one-goal victory.

Brooker finished the match with seven saves, after tallying nine against Seattle U on Thursday.

The Beavers will host LMU Friday evening at Lorenz Field.
