Connor Benjamin Appointed Oregon State Men’s Golf Assistant Coach

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Connor Benjamin has been appointed as an assistant coach for the Oregon State men's golf team, head coach Brian Watts announced Wednesday.
"We're fortunate to have Coach Benjamin join our golf program," Watts said. "He's a former collegiate golfer who played at the JC, Division I and Division II levels. After his finished his eligibility, he stepped in to take on the head coaching role at his alma mater, Missouri S&T. It's unique to find someone who has all this experience and who graduated with a nuclear engineering degree.
"Coach Benjamin will bring a great energy to the office and course every day. He understands and believes in our culture we're working on building for the future. I look forward to working shoulder to shoulder with Coach Benjamin developing our student-athletes on and off the golf course."
Benjamin comes to Corvallis after one season as the head coach at Missouri S&T. The Miners won three regular season tournaments during his tenure, and were the low finishing team during stroke play at the conference championship.
He mentored the conference player of the year, the league's freshman of the year and every member of his starting five achieved all-conference honors.
"I'm humbled and honored to help lead the Oregon State men's golf team," Benjamin said. "I'm excited to work with Coach Watts and our student-athletes to lay the foundation for a successful and sustainable program. Go Beavs!"
Benjamin played collegiately at Cal Baptist, UT Permian Basin, Ranger and Missouri S&T. He was an all-conference and all-region selection during his collegiate career while being named an Honorable Mention All-American during the 2024-25 season. He was an Academic All-American as a junior and a senior.
He averaged 71.2 shots per round his senior year, setting a program-record 18-under 198 at the Findlay Spring Invite. He was ranked as high as No. 24 in the Division II level that year while helping lead Missouri S&T to a conference title and national quarterfinalist run at the D-II national championships.
A native of Kent, Wash., he has his bachelors in Nuclear Engineering and is pursuing his Masters in Explosives Engineering.
Benjamin's appointment is contingent on the completion of all university hiring processes.
