PREP CAREER: Kailie is a three-time Junior Olympic nationals qualifier … won the Level 10 national title on the balance beam in 2009 … trained at Leading Edge Gymnastics Academy under coach Tony Ammons.
PERSONAL: Born in Kirkland, Washington … daughter of Colleen and Scott Ponto … has two brothers, Ben and Evan … Colleen is a professor at Seattle University … both of her parents competed as gymnasts in college … majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry … member of National Honor Society … lists her favorite athlete as Shannon Miller … chose OSU because “Corvallis is such a college-oriented city, I love that. The campus is so green and small enough that you can walk it in reasonable time. And most importantly, the gymnastics team is incredible.”
