PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE: (1990): Stephanie’s coaching career started in 1990 at the University of British Columbia as an assistant basketball coach. University of British Columbia was ranked sixth in the nation and advanced to the regional playoffs during her one season as an assistant. (1991-92): Stephanie moved to the University of Hawaii in 1991 and served two years as a graduate assistant coach. She assisted the Rainbow Wahines to a 25-7 mark and runner-up showing in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament in 1992. Hawaii was ranked 12th in the nation, that same season. (1992-99): Stephanie joined the University of Oregon program in 1992 as an assistant coach. During her stint as an assistant coach at Oregon, the Ducks produced a 122-69 record, including six straight NCAA Tournament appearances. At Oregon, Stephanie served as recruiting coordinator. (1999-00): Stephanie joined the staff at Marist High School in 1999 as an assistant athletic director and science teacher. (2000-Present): Joined the Oregon State University staff as an assistant coach in May, 2000. Helped guide the Beavers to a 16-13 overall record and their first post-season appearance since 1996, with a trip to the WNIT.
PREP ATHLETIC CAREER: Stephanie Osburn attended Siuslaw High School and graduated in 1984. At Siuslaw, she earned all-state honors her senior year. She became the first female Division I scholarship recipient to graduate from Siuslaw High.
COLLEGE ATHLETIC CAREER: Stephanie Osburn attended Arizona State University and was a four-year letterwinner. She served as the Sun Devils’ captain during her junior and senior seasons. She averaged 4.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest for ASU during her four-year career. She earned honorable mention Academic All-Conference honors following her junior and senior seasons.
EDUCATION: Graduated in 1984 from Siuslaw High School in Florence, OR. Graduated from Arizona State University in 1989 with a 3.28 overall GPA, with a B.S. in wildlife biology. She also earned her M.S. in education from the University of Hawaii in 1992. She recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA while working towards her masters degree at Hawaii with a major in education administration.
PERSONAL: Stephanie and her husband Geoff Norman were married in May, 1997. They are the proud parents of one son, Parker Briggs Norman, born on July 10, 2001.
NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Stephanie has enjoyed tremendous success as an assistant coach in the collegiate ranks. In one season at the University of British Columbia, the team advanced to the regional playoffs and was ranked No. 6 in the nation. In one season as an assistant coach at Hawaii, the Rainbow Wahines produced a 25-7 record, ranked 12th in the nation and placed second in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament in 1992. She enjoyed tremendous success as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oregon from 1992-99. During her tenure as an assistant, the Ducks recorded a 122-69 record. Oregon produced two All-Americans, nine All-Pac-10 players and 21 All-Pac-10 Academic honorees. She helped recruit four high school All-Americans and Oregon had three Top-20 recruiting classes. The 1999 Oregon team won the Pac-10 championship and finished ranked No. 16 in the nation in the Associated Press and USA Today polls. In her final six seasons at Oregon, the Ducks played in six straight NCAA Tournaments.
