Eight Named to Swimming Pac-12 All-Academic Teams

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – The Oregon State swim team has been honored today with eight student-athletes being named to Pac-12 All-Academic first, second and honorable mention teams for their performances in the classroom during the 2011-2012 season.
Senior Hannah McCulley was named to the All-Academic first team. This is McCulley’s first Pac-12 academic award after transferring from Iowa State for the 2010 season.
Amy Herbst, Rachel O’Brien and Amanda Rose were all honored by being named to the second team. O’Brien and Herbst have now been named to the All-Academic team two years in a row, with Rose receiving her first honor of her career.
Jenni Dole, Aya Fujimura, Carrie Kelsey and Erica Nelson were all named to the honorable mention squad. This is Dole and Kelsey’s second academic honor during their careers here at Oregon State, while this is Fujimura and Nelson’s first time to be honored for their academic achievement by the Pac-12.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
