OREGON STATE (2000-01) Freshman: Hollye will join the OSU program for the start of practice in October and will compete for playing time at power and small forward…according to Coach Judy Spoelstra, “Hollye carries a strong physical presence inside. She has improved tremendously this past year at Oregon City. She’s an excellent shooter and moves effectively around the basket. Her impact at Oregon State will be felt immediately. Hollye is ready for Pac-10 basketball and can play at either the power forward or post position.”
OREGON CITY HIGH SCHOOL, Oregon City, OR: Hollye played basketball for Oregon City High School as a junior and senior and for Cottage Grove High School as a freshman and sophomore…played for Coach Carl Tinsley and Brad Smith at Oregon City and for Jan Jacobs at Cottage Grove…earned one letter in track and field at Oregon City, competing in the 400, 200 and shot put…established a school record in the shot put as a senior…was a two-time prep All-American at Oregon City High School and earned numerous honors during her prep career…was her team’s MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior…was a preseason USA Today, Street & Smith and Student Sports Magazine All-American heading into her senior season…was a first team all-state (The Oregonian) selection as a senior and honorable mention all-state as a freshman, sophomore and junior…earned first team all-tournament (4A) as a senior…was a first team all-league (Midwestern League) pick as a sophomore and second team selection as a freshman at Cottage Grove High School…was a first team all-league (3-Rivers) pick was a junior and senior at Oregon City, and was named the league MVP as a senior…was named the US National scholar athlete as a senior and served as team captain as a sophomore and senior…averaged 13.4 points as a freshman, 17.3 as a sophomore, 19.1 as a junior and 17.2 as a senior…scored 309 points as a freshman, 398 as a sophomore, 515 as a junior and 500 as a senior, for a total of 1,722 points in 102 games, an average of 16.9 points per game…accounted for 867 rebounds in 102 games, an average of 8.5 per game.
