Five Beavers Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Softball Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
Junior Maggie Doremus earned Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team to lead five Oregon State softball players on the list, announced Tuesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.
It is the second consecutive year Doremus, a native of San Diego, Calif., has been named to the league's second team for scholarship. Doremus, a liberal studies major, carries a 3.44 grade point average.
Joining Doremus on the all-academic squad is senior Mary Claire Brenner (Portland, Ore.), Nikki Chandler (Houston, Texas) and Erin Guzy (Beaverton, Ore.) and junior Ally Kutz (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) all earned honorable mention status. It is the third honor for Guzy while Brenner, Chandler and Kutz each picked up their second awards.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and either be a starter or significant contributor.
