Last Game
Michael Conforto hit a grand slam and drove in six runs to pace the Beavers to a 12-2 win over the Ducks Sunday at PK Park in Eugene. Ben Wetzler threw 6 1/3 innings for his seventh consecutive win, allowing six hits and two runs in the process. Oregon State pounded out 17 hits in the victory, which gave the Beavers the series victory over Oregon and extended OSU's Pac-12 lead to two games.
This Is Non-Conference
The game Tuesday is classified as a non-conference game because it is not mandated by the Pac-12 Conference. The teams played a previous non-conference game on April 9, with Oregon winning, 6-3. The Beavers are 21-4 in non-conference games this season, including a 9-2 mark at home.
That Concludes Road Action
Oregon State played its last true road game of the regular season Sunday - and the team hopes its last of the year, regardless - and the Beavers finished with an 18-6 mark on opponents' home fields. That's the most for OSU in a single season since the 1997 club won 19. OSU hit .288 away from home and posted a 2.22 ERA in 215 innings.
And At Home ...
The Beavers have been dominant at home en route to a 20-3 mark at Goss Stadium. As a team, the Beavers are hitting .281 and have an ERA of 1.82 in 208 innings.>Michael Conforto has been especially lethal at Goss, batting .354 with five home runs and 20 RBI.
Speaking Of Conforto
Sophomore>Michael Conforto has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, pushing his average to .333 from .319. During that stretch, he has six multi-hit games, three home runs and 15 RBI.
Streak Keeps Going
Oregon State's opponents have failed to steal a base in the last 18 games dating back to April 17. Steal attempts have been almost as scarce as teams have gone for just eight over that stretch. Jake Rodriguez has thrown out his last 10 steal attempts against.
Singles
OSU is looking for its 10th win of May, and in doing so, would have 10 or more wins in March, April and May for the first time since 2009.
Max Gordon's diving catch Sunday was rated as the No. 1 top play on ESPN's SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays and was also featured on SI.com.
Oregon State has batted in an inning four times in its last six games.
