Adam Pearce enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Oregon State men's soccer program and works primarily with the goalkeepers.
In his first three seasons with the Beavers, Pearce helped Steve Spangler post a trio of the best seasons in goal in school history. Spangler posted a 1.27 goals-against average in 2009, the seventh-best single-season mark in Oregon State history, and had 77 saves in 2010, the second-most ever by a Beavers junior. He backed that up with another 74 stops in 2011. Spangler finished his career third all-time in Oregon State history in both saves (250) and shutouts (11). His 5,541 career minutes in goal are second all-time in the Beaver record books for a keeper and his 1.64 career goals-against average is the fifth best in school history.
Pearce has helped the Beavers record 20 wins in his first three seasons on the bench, including a 9-6-1 mark and second-place finish in the competitive Pac-10 Conference in 2009, the highest finish by an Oregon State squad since 2002.
Before his arrival in Corvallis, Pearce was the head coach of the men's and women's soccer programs at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. In his three seasons there, the women's team compiled a 26-22-7 record and posted their first consecutive winning seasons in school history. The Lady Badgers finished second in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in 2007 and he left the program as the winningest women's soccer coach in school history.
Three of his men's players and seven of the women's players were named to the All-GCAC Teams during his tenure, while two men and seven women student-athletes were named NAIA Scholar Athletes. Two of his women's teams earned NAIA Scholar Team recognition and the 2008 team received a Scholar Team Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Prior to Spring Hill College, Pearce spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Concordia University and one year as an assistant coach at Central Arkansas. He was also the head coach at Ridgefield (Wash.) High School and was a graduate assistant coach at Akron for one season.
Pearce played soccer for three seasons at Concordia where he was a two-time All-Conference selection and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-America in 1999. He played professionally for the Portland Timbers and participated in professional trials in England and Ireland.
Pearce graduated magna cum laude from Concordia with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education in 2000 and received his Master's of Education from Akron in 2004.
