FRESHMAN (2012-13): Transferred to Oregon State from the University of Tennessee on Dec. 19, 2012 and will have four years of eligibility beginning in spring of 2013 … Played in the final seven tournaments of the spring season … Had a scoring average of 80.21 … Best finish was a tie for 41st at the Cal Classic … Best three-round score was a 17-over 233 at the Fresno State Lexus Classic … Best score was a 3-over 74 in the first round of the Peg Barnhard Invitational, her first career round at Oregon State … Shot a 4-over 76 in the second round of the Cal Classic.
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE (2012): Played in all four tournaments in fall of 2012 with the Lady Vols … Recorded a scoring average of 79.75 with a low round of 74 at the Cougar Classic … Best finish was a tie for 63rd at the Alamo Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from West Salem High School in Salem, Ore., in 2012 … Lettered four years in golf … Was a four-time 6A All-State recipient and named the Mid-Valley Player of Year four times by the Statesman Journal … Won the CVC District Championship four times … Earned league’s Player of the Year honor and First-Team All-Conference recognition four times each … Named team captain of the golf team junior and senior seasons … Was a four-time Honor Roll student and made the All-CVC-League All-Academic Team four times for golf and two times for basketball.
JUNIOR/AMATEUR GOLF: Claimed medalist honors at the Safeway Classic Amateur Open in 2011 that earned her exemption into the LPGA Safeway Classic … Has 76 career tournament wins, 13 second-place finishes and 11 third-place finishes in tournaments in Oregon and Washington … Played in the US Girls’ Junior National Amateur three times, the Callaway Junior World Championships five times and the Trusted Choice Big I Nationals four times … Best tournament scores are a 6-under 66 in a single round and a 4-under 140 in a 36-hole event.
PERSONAL: Born in Tokyo, Japan … Daughter of Paul and Allyson Pickerell … Father works for State of Oregon and is the girl’s head basketball coach at McNary High School and mother works for State of Oregon … Has one sister, Kaylee … Hobbies are playing basketball, watching sports, listening to music and hanging out with friends … Favorite athlete is Steve Nash … Biggest athletic thrill to date is “qualifying for the LPGA Safeway Classic” … Chose Oregon State because “I love Risë (Alexander) and Kailin (Downs) and the team is filled with really awesome girls. Also, Oregon State is close to home so I can be near my family” … Majoring in public health.
