Jamie Jackson enters her third season as assistant swim coach. She is a former University of San Diego swimmer and assistant coach.
As an assistant coach with the Toreros from 2007-10, she worked primarily with the sprinters while also assisting with various strokes and distances. Jackson was part of the coaching staff that oversaw two school records fall in the 2010 WAC Championships. San Diego set new marks in the 800 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay.
"I'm very fortunate to get someone of her temperament and knowledge, and I really think she's going to be a big asset to the team," head swimming coach Larry Liebowitz said.
Jackson swam for the Toreros from 2001-2005, earning team captain honors for two years. She was the San Diego team MVP as a senior and was named All-PCSC as a freshman and junior, competing primarily in freestyle events and relays. As a senior, Jackson placed in a total of four events at the WAC Championships, clocking USD and personal season-best times in the 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 1650 freestyle.
Jackson was born in Bellflower, Calif., and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. She is an avid surfer and has participated in the Lifeguard Nationals in Miami, Fla.
