As Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Sport Services, Diana Ulrey is responsible for the oversight of all athletics compliance operations and rules education efforts. She serves as the lead compliance officer for Oregon State, primary contact for name, image and likeness disclosure and liaison to several campus constituencies. Ulrey has been in her current role since July 2021.
As a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance, Ulrey currently sits on the NAAC convention committee. She has also been active as a NCAA Site Representative for Softball and Men’s Soccer. Ulrey presented at the Annual Women Leaders in College Sports Conference in 2017 on Holistic Approaches to Student-Athlete Wellbeing.
In addition, Ulrey has served on several university committees including as Co-Chair of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women and the Academic Requirements Committee in 2020-21.
Initially arriving at OSU as assistant director for compliance in 2013, Ulrey spent four years as an assistant athletics director. In her time at Oregon State, Ulrey has been integral in renovating the academic eligibility certification and financial aid processes as well as establishing monitoring protocols.
Ulrey arrived on the OSU campus after serving as an academic services coordinator at Northern Arizona University since 2008. In addition to her duties in that role she also served as the Lumberjacks' NCAA Champs/Lifeskills Coordinator.
Prior to her full-time appointment at NAU, Ulrey was an accounting specialist for NAU Extended Campuses and served as a SCA interpretive ranger at the Wupatki National Monument in Arizona and as a historical research assistant at the Klondike Gold Rush National Park in Skagway, Alaska.
Ulrey graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in history from Clemson University. She earned a M.Ed in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership from the University of Washington, being presented the Award for Emerging Research.
Ulrey was a four-time Atlantic Coast Conference academic selection competing for Clemson women's rowing team. Her honors also include being selected a National Scholar-Athlete in 2003 and earning the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Excellence. Ulrey lives in Albany, Oregon with her partner and daughter.
