Ryan Hardie

Ryan Hardie arrived in Corvallis in 2026 as the Oregon State Associate Football Strength & Conditioning Coach.
He previously spent the past three seasons as the Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning at Virginia Tech, where he helped guide the Hokies to appearances in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and a Military Bowl Championship.
Prior to his time at Virginia Tech, Hardie served four years as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Old Dominion University. In that role, he designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for football, women’s basketball, and women’s rowing programs.
Hardie’s résumé also includes stops at Walsh University (2013–15) and Malone University (2016–19), where he served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at both institutions.
A Canton, Ohio native, additionally worked in the strength and conditioning department at Ohio State University during the 2015–16 season, contributing to the Buckeyes’ Fiesta Bowl Championship. He also gained experience with the University of Georgia football program during the 2019 offseason.
Hardie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds the RSCC ranking through the NSCA. His other certifications include Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW). He is also a Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist (FRCms).
Hardie earned his bachelor’s degree in multi-age physical education and a Master of Business Administration from Walsh University, where he also played college football.
