Beavs Drop Heartbreaker To San Jose State, 1-0

SAN JOSE, Calif. - - The Oregon State women's soccer team (4-3-0) played San Jose State even for the first 87 minutes of its non-league soccer match Wednesday night at Spartan Stadium before surrendering the deciding goal at 87:38 for a final of 1-0.
SJSU (4-3-0) broke the deadlock when Rosie Madera took a pass from Julie Brum to put home the winning score for the Spartans.
OSU's Jerika Duran totaled five saves while going the entire game in goal, as the Spartans rifled 16 shots in the game. The Beaver defense was under pressure for most of the second half as Duran faced five shots on goal in the final 45 minutes. Duran sports a 1.00 goals-against average over five games.
The Beavers managed only eight shots on the night, lead by Dante Lipfert with three. Lipfert leads the squad with 23 shots this season through seven games.
Oregon State takes on St. Mary's in a 4 p.m. road contest this Friday. OSU will then have nine days off before squaring off with Boise State on Sunday, Sept. 4 in Corvallis.
