Beavers finish in tie for 42nd in NCAA wrestling

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Oregon State remained tied for 42nd place Saturday as the NCAA Wrestling Championships concluded at the Savvis Center. Oklahoma State won its 32nd team title in the sport, outdistancing second-place Iowa by 41.5 points.
OSU freshman heavyweight Jamie Rakevich won three matches at the tournament before being eliminated on Friday. Rakevich's victories included a pin and a major decision as he went 3-2 at the tournament.
OSU sophomore 184-pounder Dan Pitsch went 1-2 at the tournament with a victory in the championship bracket, while senior 174-pounder Jed Pennell, junior 165-pounder Matt Ellis and sophomore 149-pounder Tony Hook were all eliminated in two matches.
