Men's Rowing Takes Two Races at Stanford Invitational

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – After fighting hard all weekend, the Oregon State men's crew team brought home two victories out of their 11 races at the Stanford Invitational.
On Saturday, the second varsity eight boat and the freshman varsity eight boats fought hard and narrowly lost to Orange Coast by 4.5 and 3.9 seconds, respectively.
The varsity eight boat was able to achieve the first victory of the weekend against UC Davis, winning by 12.2 seconds.
Later in the day, each Oregon State crew took on the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers. The varsity and second varsity boats lost, but the freshman boat gained the second victory of the weekend, winning by 4.9 seconds.
The racing resumed on Sunday morning, with Oregon State's freshman eight, second varsity eight, and varsity eight losing to No. 13 California. The varsity eight boat raced hard, losing by a mere 5 seconds.
The freshman eight and second varsity eight also competed against Stanford, losing both races.
Oregon State returns to action against Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, April 24.
