OREGON STATE: (2004) Chris begins his career at OSU this fall after transferring from Fresno State... has three years of eligibility... coach Taylor's comments: "Scored some excellent goals for Fresno State and is a great addition to our squad. He's tricky on the ball and has tremendous pace."
FRESNO STATE: (2003) Led the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists, including a score in OSU's 2-1 win over Fresno on Nov. 7... started 16 of 19 games in the midfield as a true freshman.
ODP: Played three years on the Cal North State Team... team captain.
SANTA ROSA UNITED HEAT (CLUB): Team won six state cup championships and one Region IV title while Murphy was on the team from 1994-2004.
MARIA CARILLO: First-team all-league as a sophomore, junior and senior; second-team as a freshman... league MVP as a senior... tallied 70 goals and 60 assists for his career.
PERSONAL: Son of Terri Murphy... family includes brother, Ryan (22)... father is deceased... born in Santa Rosa, Calif... has not decided on a major... mother is a human resources manager... five prep teammates play collegiately... biggest thrill to date has been meeting Terrell Owens of the San Francisco 49ers... chose OSU "for the great soccer and competition at the Pac-10 level"... what he loves about soccer is, "the thrill I get when I play"... something he'd like to accomplish is to win a NCAA Championship.
