Team Notes
At 9-2, Oregon State is off to its best start after 11 games since the 1997-98 team started with the same record.
Joe Burton (9) and Jared Cunningham (8) combined for 17 assists, marking the first time two Beavers have had five or more dimes in one game since an 83-70 win over Charlotte on Nov. 24, 2010.
Oregon State is now 7-0 this season when scoring 80 or more points and 16-1 all-time under Head Coach Craig Robinson. In 31 total games last season, the Beavers reached the 80-point plateau seven times.
The Beavers have now scored at least 90 points in three consecutive games, the first time they have accomplished that feat since the 1991-92 season when they scored 92 vs. LaSalle, 92 vs. Minnesota and 104 vs. Sacramento State in back-to-back-to-back contests.
With the win, Oregon State has now scored more than 100 points twice in the same season for the first time since that same 1991-92 campaign. That year the Beavers dropped triple digits on Oral Roberts (112) and Sacramento State (104).
With the 101-68 result, Oregon State has notched seven of its nine wins by at least 20 points, which hasn't been done since the 1981-82 team under Ralph Miller did it 10 times en route to a 25-5 record and a Pac-10 title.
Oregon State outscored the Vikings 17-4 on the break and has a 118-32 edge over its opponents in that category this year.
The Beavers made a season-high 13 three-pointers, the most for the program since it knocked down 14 against Howard on Dec. 20, 2008 in a 90-54 victory.
Oregon State had 27 assists on its 40 made field goals, which beats the team's previous season-high from its last game against Howard.
The team's 59 second-half points are also a season-high, besting the 50 it scored after intermission against Illinois-Chicago.
Player Notes
Walk-on C.J. Mitchell scored his first career points for Oregon State and hit a three-pointer in the final seconds to put the Beavers over 100 points in the game.
Ahmad Starks was 5-for-8 from three-point range, tying his career-high of five made treys that he set last game against Howard. He is now 12-for-16 from long range in his last three games.
Angus Brandt, who leads the Pac-12 in field goal percentage, had 16 points on 7-for-8 shooting. He's 19 for his last 24 from the field (79.2%).
Roberto Nelson scored 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from three. He has now scored in double figures in six consecutive games and is 11-for-15 from behind the arc in the last three.
Jared Cunningham set a career-high with eight assists; beating the six he had last time out against Howard.
Eric Moreland notched his second career double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. He had 11 points and 10 boards in the season opener against CSU Bakersfield.
