Jill Hoxmeier joined the Oregon State coaching staff as a volunteer throws assistant prior to the 2012-13 academic year.
A native of Aloha, Ore., Hoxmeier competed at the University of Oregon from 2000-04 under the coaching of Sally Harmon (2000-03) and Lance Deal (2003-04). She earned trips to the West Regional NCAA Qualifier in 2003 and 2004 and also placed seventh in the Pac-10 Conference Championships as a senior.
While at Century High School in Hillsboro, Ore., Hoxmeier was a decorated athlete. As a senior in the state 4A championships she finished second in discus (126-5) and 11th in shot put (35-10 1/4), and took fifth in the discus (129-0) as a junior. At season's end in 2000, she ranked fourth in the state in discus with season-best of 136-11.
Hoxmeier has previously coaches at both Tigard High School and Whitefish High School in Whitefish, Mont. She also served as a volunteer throws coach at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M.
She is currently working toward her Ph.D in Public Health, Health Behavior and Promotion at Oregon State.
