Marcel helped Mater Dei to a 24-5 record in 2003-2004 and the Sierra League title...Mater Dei advanced to the semi-finals of the CIF sectional playoffs...Jones was a four-year letterman for head coach Gary McKnight -- Gary's son Clay McKnight is the basketball operations director at Oregon State...Jones averaged 20.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists as a senior...he connected on .509 (218-428) from the field, including making 54 of 149 (.362) from three-point range...as a junior Jones helped Mater Dei to the CIF title with a 35-2 record, averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds...as a sophomore he averaged 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds...for his career he was a three-time All-Sierra League and three-time All-CIF selection.
