The Oregon State swim team is set to host the Seattle University Redhawks this Saturday in a non-conference dual meet. The dual is set to start at 12:00 p.m. at the Dixon Recreation Center in Corvallis, Ore.
The Oregon State swimming team is ready to kick-off the 2011-2012 season against California on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at Dixon Recreation Center.
JUNIOR (2011-2012): Competed in three events: 50, 100 and 200 yard freestyles ... Competed at nine different meets during the season ... She swam her fastest times in the 50 yard freestyle (24.67) at the Pac-12 Championships ... Swam her season best times in the 100 (53.68) and 200 yard freestyle (1:57.35) at the Arena Invitational ... Her best finish was against California and Washington State when she finished seventh in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles.
SOPHOMORE (2010-2011): Competed in five meets in three different events ... Ranked ninth in the team and set career best times in all three events the 50 (24.68), 100 (53.44), and 200 (1:56.79) freestyle.
FRESHMAN(2009-10): Competed in six meets during her true freshman season in six different events ... Set personal bests in the 50 (24.97), 100 (57.08) and 200 (1:59.90) freestyle events all at the Toshiba Classic (Nov. 19-21) ... Recorded her first career dual win against Lewis & Clark (Jan. 18) in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.21.
SUNSET HS: Lettered all four years in swimming as a sprinter for Coach Adam Farber ... Lettered four times as a sprinter in water polo under coach David Tuber ... Was captain of the water polo team ... Placed first in the Metro League in both swimming (50m free, 100m free) and water polo ... Took third in the state in water polo ... Was swimming MVP.
PERSONAL: Born in Portland, Ore. to Gary and Mary Bambusch ... Has a younger brother Zane ... Major is Undecided ... Enjoys dancing, traveling, going to movies, hanging out with friends, and trying new things ... Biggest athletic thrill was competing at high school districts.
