Game Notes
· The game aired on FOX Sports 1. Craig Bolerjack was the play-by-play announcer while Joey Harrington provided analysis and Ryan Nece was the sideline reporter.
· Utah won the coin toss and elected to defer. The Beavers elected to receive and will defend the north end zone.
· Oregon State captains were Sean Mannion, Rashaad Reynolds, Brandin Cooks and Obum Gwacham.
· Oregon State wore its white uniforms with white helmets – it is the first time the Beavers have worn the white uniforms. Utah wore red jerseys with black pants and red helmets.
· Attendance for the game was 45,221.
Oregon State Team Notes
· The Beavers improved to 11-6-1 all-time against Utah. Oregon State has now won the last two against the Utes.
· The win marked the 83rd all-time for head coach Mike Riley.
· The game marked the eighth time Oregon State has played in an overtime game and the Beavers now have a 3-5 record … it is the Beavers first overtime win since the 2007 Civil War.
· Oregon State scored 30+ points for the third straight game. It is the first time the Beavers have scored 30 or more since doing it four games in a row in 2009 (California, Washington, Washington State and Oregon).
· Oregon State allowed 6 rushing yards in the first half. It was the second consecutive half the Beavers have allowed fewer than 10 rushing yards (Hawai'i rushed for 9 in the second half last week).
· Oregon State has a first half time of possession of 19:07 the most against a Pac-12 opponent since October 6, 2012 against Washington State
· Sean Martin's interception return for a touchdown was the Beavers' first since Jordan Poyer did the same at BYU in 2012.
· Sean Mannion threw 443 yards becoming the first player in OSU history to throw for 350+ yards in three consecutive games.
Oregon State Individual Notes
· Brandin Cooks scored three touchdowns, a career-high, and now has seven in 2012. Cooks has 15 career touchdown receptions tying for seventh in school history.
· Cooks finished with 210 yards receiving, giving him 2,040 for his career. The 2,034 yards moved him past Steve Coury (1,837 yards) and Roddy Tompkins (1,845) into eighth-place in Oregon State career history.
· It is the second time this season Cooks surpassed the 100-yard receiving mark and seventh time in his career, tying for sixth all-time at OSU.
· Cooks' 200-yard game is the eighth in OSU history and first since Sammie Stroughter had 223 receiving yards at Washington Oct. 14, 2006.
· Cooks' now has 15 receiving scores in his career, moving him into a tie for seventh all-time at Oregon State … it is also 14 times Mannion and Cooks have connected for a TD in their careers – tying for third on OSU's all-time list.
· Sean Mannion finished with five touchdown passes tying the school record. That gives him 43 for his career, moving into sole possession of fourth on OSU's all-time list.
· Sean Mannion's career-high 443 passing yards – the fourth-highest output ever by an OSU passer – gives him three games of 350+ in 2012 – a first for an OSU passer since Derek Anderson in 2004 (four times). Anderson, who also 350+ yards three times in 2003 is the only other OSU passer to do so … it is the sixth 350+ yards passing game of Mannion's career which ranks second on OSU's all-time list.
· Richard Mullaney registered the first 100-yard game and he added a career-best seven catches.
· Trevor Romaine's 49-yard field goal in the second quarter was the longest of his career.
· Romaine's three field goals give him 36 for his career, moving him into a tie for fourth in OSU history (Troy Bussanich) … the last time an OSU kicker booted three field goals in a game was Romaine at Stanford I n 2012.
· Scott Crichton's first quarter forced fumble is the eighth of his career – moving into sole possession of second on OSU's all-time list.
· Scott Crichton was credited with 2.0 tackles-for-loss, giving him 36.0 for his career, which ranks him fifth in school history.
· Sean Martin's third quarter interception was the third of his career and the first one he's returned for a touchdown.
· Steven Nelson turned in his first career multi-interception game with two.
