OSU Swimming Ready to Host Wildcats
October 24, 2018 | Women's Swimming
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Beavers are back in the water this weekend as Oregon State Swimming prepares to host the University of Arizona Wildcats at Osborn Aquatic Center.
Coming off of a homecoming week Alumni Meet, the Beavers have had time to evaluate their previous races and develop new strategies to approach the second Pac-12 dual meet of the season.
"We're excited to get back into competition," Beaver head coach Jennifer Buffin said. "Coming off of the Arizona State Meet the girls learned a lot. We had the time over these last two weeks to really look at and get ready to execute what we needed to do better to prepare for another meet."
Though the Beavers have been getting consistent efforts from everyone on the team, the ten freshmen have been called upon early to create points.
"The freshmen got through the first meet and the nerves will be much more controlled this time around," Buffin said. "They are ready to get back out and compete, and the team is ready to show up as the team we want to be."
The Wildcats come into the meet with a 1-0 record and ranked at No. 21 nationally.
"Arizona is going to be tough competition, there's no doubt in that at all," Buffin said. "But we're going to compete. The mindset at this point in the season is improvement every day and every week and we're doing a good job getting to where we as a program want to be."
The meet is set for 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, October 27th at Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis.
