Beavers Fall to No. 4 Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. – Four crews from the 20th-ranked Oregon State men's rowing team took on crews from No. 3 Washington Friday evening at the Montlake Cut in Seattle. Each of the Beavers' crews came up short to the defending national champions.
The Varsity 8 consisting of Neall Koetje, Jesse Maritz, Roman Pjajka, Glenn Miller, Hunter Smith, Jacob Randall, Jacob Hart and Baxter Call and coxed by Ercoli Crugnale, recorded the Beavers' best time of the day covering the course in 6-minutes, 3.550-seconds. Washington finished in first with a time of 5:47.579.
The Beavers' Junior Varsity 8 (6:09.717) also earned a second-place finish to the Huskies, who registered a time of 5:53.379.
In the Third Varsity 8, OSU rowed to a fourth place finish with a time of 6:14.261 trailing three UW crews. The Huskies' 3V8 won the race recording a time of 5:50.080.
OSU's Varsity 4+ covered the course in a time of 7:06.562 finishing behind four Husky crews.
The Beavers will be back on the water next weekend at the Stanford Invitational where they'll take on Wisconsin, Georgetown and the Cardinal at Redwood Shores.
