Beavers Host Final Two Home Meets of the Season

Oregon State will host Washington State on Friday and Idaho on Saturday.
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Beavers are set to host their final home meets of the season this weekend at Osborn Aquatic Center.
Â
Friday will be the first home meet of 2019 for Oregon State as they welcome Washington State University to Corvallis. The Cougars are coming into the meet with a 3-6 record in duel meets.
Â
"We're all excited," said Beaver head coach Jennifer Buffin. "This is a great opportunity for us as a program. We get to swim against two really competitive teams back-to-back at home and show what we've been working on over these last few months while we've been on the road. We've got experience in these back-to-back days recently, so now it's about taking what we learned and applying it to the home environment."
Â
Saturday's morning meet against Idaho will have a slightly altered format, with the Beavers competing in the 400 IM replacing the 1000 free, and the 200 IM being replaced by the 100 IM. This marks the first time the Beavers have swam the 100 IM in Buffin's time at the helm. Saturday's meet is set for 10 A.M.
Â
"Obviously we have to go out and compete at our highest level against Washington State, and then it's a game of recovery," Buffin said. "A lot of it is getting everybody ready to come out and not sleep on the second day. We want to go in there and bring the same energy and focus in both meets."
Â
After spending the last couple months solely competing on the road, the Beavers are eager to get back in the pool in front of the home crowd at Osborn.Â
Â
"We're thankful we had such a great turnout of fans on the road, and I'm excited to be back at home with our community," Buffin said. "I think there is going to be a lot of really good energy at Osborn this weekend."
