
Beavers Set For Season-Opening Tourney

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team opens its 2019-20 season Monday and Tuesday at the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash.

FIELD (15): Oregon State, Boise State, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Idaho, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, St. Mary's, San Diego, San Diego State, Seattle, Washington and Washington State.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,159-yard Gold Mountain Golf Club.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Kyosuke Hara, junior Spencer Tibbits and sophomores Carson Barry, Sean Kato and Nolan Thoroughgood.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be tee times off the first and 10th tees beginning at 7:15 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The Beavers will start on the first hole at 7:15 a.m. on Monday and be paired with Gonzaga and Oregon.

- Advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2013.
- Won the team title at the Duck Invitational; it was the first team title since 2014.
- Had a team scoring average of 72.26, the best since 2011.
- Recorded eighth top-10 finishes in the 12 tournaments.
- Spencer Tibbits earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition; he's the first Oregon State golfer to earn All-Pac-12 honors since David Fink was selected to the Second Team in 2014.
- Sean Kato was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
- Spencer Tibbits led the team with a scoring average of 71.65, the sixth best in program history.
- Shawn Lu and Spencer Tibbits earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition.
- Spencer Tibbits qualified for the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach by finishing in a tie for second place a sectional qualifier in Walla Walla, Wash.
