Oregon State is one of six remaining unbeaten teams
CORVALLIS –  The No. 3 Oregon State women's basketball team continued its blistering start to the season, extending its winning streak to 13 with a 77-48 victory over Utah Friday evening at Gill Coliseum.
Â
"It was great to be back here in Gill – tonight had an awesome feel to it," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "I was really impressed by Utah. Watching their film, you can see that they have weapons everywhere. We knew we would need to attack them and be aggressive offensively. Our team came out with a great focus. I'm pleased with the performance and it's great to get our first conference win under our belt."
Â
The beginning to the year is the best by an Oregon State team since the program started keeping records. The Beavers are one of six remaining undefeated teams in the nation.

Â
As a team, Oregon State shot 48.2 percent from the floor, while holding Utah to 33.3 percent shooting. The Beavers dominated the boards 44-28.

The Utes answered with six-straight points, but Oregon State took a 14-6 lead into the first media timeout. The Beavers continued to roll from there, scoring 12 unanswered to go ahead by double-figures. OSU ended the first leading 24-10.
Â
Oregon State continued to keep Utah at bay in the second quarter, heading to the break in front 37-24. Pivec led the Beavers with nine points and four rebounds in the opening 20 minutes. Slocum and Tudor had eight points apiece.
