
Beavers Drop Contest at Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Utah 79-60 Thursday evening in Salt Lake City.
Five Beavers scored eight points or more in the game, led by Tyler Bilodeau's 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the floor. Rodrigue Andela scored 10 points off the bench.
Glenn Taylor Jr. put up nine points and matched a career-high with five assists. Freshmen Jordan Pope and Michael Rataj tallied eight points apiece.
As a team, Oregon State shot 40 percent from beyond the arc, and recorded 31 bench points. Nine different Beavers scored in the contest.
Utah jumped out to an early lead, going in front 15-6 at the game's first media timeout. The Beavers battled back to get within six with 12 minutes left in the first half. The Utes would go ahead by as many as 13 in the first half, before heading to the locker room up 42-34.
Pope led the Beavers with eight first-half points.
Oregon State knocked down three 3-pointers to start the second half, getting within one less than three minutes into the period. Utah led 57-51 at the under-12 media break. The Utes went in front by 17 with five minutes to go, on their way to the 19-point victory.
The Beavers will head across the Rockies this weekend for a Saturday matchup at Colorado.
